Should i use muffin liners

They were right! So it seems to be hit or miss: some companies are clear and helpful, others just assume you were born knowing what to do. Those paper separators are just there to keep the foil cupcake liners from sticking together. Good paper liners are usually coated with either quilon or silicone, both of which keep your muffins and cupcakes from sticking to the paper liners. You can see that some of the cupcake stuck to the paper as I was removing it. Will it hurt anything to use the foil cupcake liners in a muffin pan?

If you have muffin pans, you can use paper liners, which are cheaper. But, they will spread out some. Here are cupcakes baked in foil cupcake liners. The ones on the left were baked in a muffin pan, the ones on the right baked on a cookie sheet. If you want bigger cupcakes, great! Or, go ahead and fill them three-quarters for bigger cupcakes and a wider area to decorate.

There are also foil cupcake liners that have decorative paper on the outside. The foil combined with the paper makes them a bit stiffer than the ones that are just foil. But if you want your cupcakes and muffins to be prettier, follow the instructions!

No reason to waste money on the foil liners! Cooking cupcakes in foil liner do you change temp. My recipe said for 20 minutes. They burned. What's true of any individual muffin pan will hold true even if you add a liner, but the type of liner you choose can influence the shape and appearance of the muffin, in addition to speeding cleanup.

The cheap paper liners you buy at the store will get the job done, but they're thin and quick to dissolve from moisture, so I wanted to put a few other options to the test, with some blueberries thrown into the mix to show how each stood up to the juicy fruit.

Humble waxed parchment liners performed admirably, although their translucence and waxy texture can make the muffins look and feel a little greasy.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well heavy colored paper liners held up. In the photo above, the stain is the result of overflow rather than bleeding berries.

The many nooks and crannies of folded tulip papers made for weirdly shaped muffins, while the unusually tall papers caused the muffins to brown unevenly as well. I also found them difficult to use, as the papers were slightly wider than the bottoms of the muffin cups, yet not designed to stand on their own.

My unexpected favorite, however, proved to be the simple foil liner. Its sturdy construction seemed to help the muffins form a more rounded dome, and, perhaps because of that, none of my muffins showed any evidence of overflow; it was as if the corrugated foil funneled all the juice back in. Perhaps a lucky coincidence, although 0 in 12 is surely more than chance.

This type of wrapper is sold in most grocery stores, albeit in plain silver, making it a fairly practical option as well. So, next time you bake up a batch of muffins and yes, my favorite recipes will be coming up rather soon , don't forget that your choice of pan and liner may play a bigger role than you think.

It's trial and error — but if you have any doubt, go ahead and use the papers, just in case. Which brings us to another reason to use papers: they keep the muffin or cupcake sides nice and soft, and help prevent potential burning.

You can see which muffin was baked in paper, can't you? Well, they do prevent cake from sticking to the paper — sometimes just to a minor degree, as illustrated above that's greased paper on the left, ungreased on the right. But sometimes, with more delicate cupcakes, greasing the cups actually prevents chunks of cake sticking to the paper when you peel it off.

Aluminum papers are attractive in a simple sort of way; and dark cupcakes won't show through, obviously. But if you expect to use them for stand-alone no pan baking — don't. They tend to flatten out from the pressure of the rising batter. Bottom line, muffin papers help your muffins and cupcakes in a variety of ways, some subtle, some more apparent Ever had this happen?

Sure you have! I was doing a side-by-side test, papers vs. Took the cupcakes out of the oven, got the next batch started, then circled back and removed these from the pan 5 minutes after they'd come out of the oven. Yes, just 5 minutes, but look what happened — the papered cupcakes slipped out easily, but those without papers were absolutely GLUED to the pan.

No messy papers to deal with. And teachers really appreciated it when kidlets were small. Easy to decorate, and if you want cake a la mode, take the top off, add a scoop of ice cream, and put top back on.

Hi I would like to use paper liners in my mini cupcake maker. Not wanting a fire in the appliance I thought a little advice from more experienced folk would be helpful. Many advantages if the paper liners will work. Can any one help please? Hi Carmel! We recommend checking with the manufacturer of your machine as they'll be able to tell you what is or isn't safe to include in the cupcake wells. We also don't want any fires starting!
